Long term relationships are not the same as marriage. They are two very separate things. And every man who sports a ring knows that. And every man who doesn’t have a ring knows that. And every gay human being knows that. That’s why they want civil unions. And every woman who wants a ring or refuses his ring knows that.
The only people who pretend they’re the same are the ones who weren’t asked or didn’t have the courage to walk away or stay forever. They’re fence dwellers. If it’s all the same – two options wouldn’t exist.
And anyone who wants to explain why they don’t want or need to get married, yet are in a long term relationship – if you can give me reasons why you don’t marry, you prove my point by explaining their differences.
